Strong Bonds, Strong Brains is an Athens, Georgia based 7 week therapist-led group designed for parents and their children to strengthen attachment, enhance connection, and practice co-regulation and self-regulation skills in a safe and supportive environment.

This group is designed for parents and children who may be struggling with:
What to Expect In Each Session - You and Your Child Will:
✔ Engage in playful, interactive activities to build connection.
✔ Learn practical tools to support co-regulation and emotional resilience.
✔ Strengthen your bond through attachment-based exercises.
✔ Participate in a nurturing and structured group setting designed to feel safe and supportive.
✔ Gain confidence in parenting in a trauma-informed way.
Evidence Based Approach
The group format and content is based on Trust-Based Relational Intervention®'s (TBRI®) Nurture Group. TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that empowers parents and caregivers to meet the needs of the kids in their care, especially when those children exhibit challenging behavior rooted in trauma, relational harm, and other stressful life experiences. The three main principles of TBRI are: Connecting (attachment and nurture needs), Empowering (meeting sensory and environmental needs), and Correcting (structure and behavioral support needs).

- Challenges with connection, such as avoiding closeness or struggling to trust others.
- Difficulties with self-regulation, including impulsivity, shutting down, or emotional outbursts.
- A history of trauma, adoption, foster care, or family transitions that have impacted attachment.
- Power struggles at home, where discipline feels like a battle and connection feels lost.
- Parents who feel stuck, exhausted, or unsure how to help their child feel safe and supported.

- Session 1 TBD (virtual, parent only)
- Sessions 2-7 Monday mornings (exact time TBD) - June 2, 9, 16, 23 & July 7, 14
